How we Protect our Players

Crowns Cup considers it their responsibility to offer their players maximum protection. For that purpose, we use advanced control-software for both Poker and Backgammon, in order to detect and prohibit unfair play and improper collusion. Further information about our strategy and measures against improper collusion for poker can be found here. Also Backgammon games are subject to exact monitoring to uncover the use of forbidden aids. You'll find more details here.

Backgammon Dice

Crowns Cup is the proud user of the best randomizing generator of the online-game-industry: the SG100 . The SG 100 is made by the Swedish firm Protego and is used exclusively for Backgammon. It is based on a hardware-diode and consequently produces true random numbers. Not even the so-called precision-dice, which are often used with Backgammon, can come anywhere near reaching the randomness of our randomizing generator. Due to these attributes, it is absolutely impossible to predict the dice numbers. The dice throws are generated on our game server and then sent to the clients. This makes it impossible for the players to manipulate them. You will find statistical test results concerning the randomness of the numbers produced by the SG100 at the SG100 Web-site .

Poker Card Shuffling

In contrast to Backgammon, we at Crowns Cup do not make use of the SG100 for Poker. Instead, we use the ISAAC pseudo-randomizing generator. The name ISAAC stands for Indirection , Shift , Accumulate , Add and Count . It was developed by Bob Jenkins in 1996 and is considered to be cryptographically secure. To date, there is no known successful attack which jeopardized the practical security of ISAAC. More information about ISAAC can be found at the official ISAAC Web-site.

On the one hand, Crowns Cup uses the ISAAC randomizing generator for card shuffling. In addition to that, we make use Knuth's mix-algorithm. In contrast to occasional claims, the Knuth algorithm produces no distorted results. Quite the opposite. In combination with a reliable randomizer (like ISAAC,) the Knuth algorithm produces absolutely reliable and random shuffling results. As you can see, the shuffling at Crowns Cup is of a world-class standard.
